The Books

An Artist’s Tale

In An Artist’s Tale, British author and artist Sue Exton offers a journey into the joy of art.
Focusing on the use of watercolor pencils, specifically Inktense, a new collection by Derwent, she shares how to get started creating your own drawings.

In this work, she presents a collection of a variety of her drawings from flowers, to landscape, to abstracts. Exton discusses the creation of each piece and gives tips, tricks, advice, and techniques for creating on your own.

This book  includes more than 60 color pictures accompanied by short stories, encouraging people of all ages to pick up a color pencil and get started scribbling.

My Alien Friends

When we talk of educating children, we often overlook the child’s imagination. In my Little Alien Friends, the author, Sue Exton, shows how to offer teaching from a different point of view – focusing on bright colours and pictures a child can copy. As the book unfolds, you will see how the author has split the facts about the planets into a “story within a story”, so a child can read the fantasy. Then, when they are ready, they can learn about the facts.

The book came about because the author has a grandson diagnosed with dyslexia. She believe that the right kind of books, together with time and patience, can make life and learning so much easier for them.

My Little Alien Friends includes more than 90 full colour pictures to keep a child’s attention. As Sue Exton explains, a child will only learn at their own speed and when they are ready in today’s world, a child can grow up far too quickly. So take a step back and allow them to grow naturally.
